About the Real-Time Translation Blog

On April 22, 2010, Lionbridge and IBM announced a partnership agreement to accelerate the development and commercialization of real-time translation technology that instantly translates content and communications such as Web pages, documents, customer support, user generated content, instant messages, blogs and e-mail, so people can communicate in their native languages.

Unlike free-ware machine translation applications available on the Web, the combined real-time multilingual communication solution can be customized using each client organization’s existing content and configured for each organization’s business process needs, thereby increasing translation quality and efficiency.

This blog is about this development, and the transformation of Lionbridge’s business as it accelerates the growth and commercialization of real-time translation.

The blog’s author, Kevin Perry, is the Vice President,  Real Time Translation. Prior to taking responsibility of this new business initiative, he managed the Lionbridge Internet technology and telecommunications sales forces and account management teams for Lionbridge, Eastern Region.

He has more than 15 years in the global, high-tech industry where he ran Marketing for Asia at PTC (PMTC) and worked for Amano Corporation in Yokohama, Japan.

Kevin is an avid baseball fan and aspiring golfer – living in Rhode Island with his wife, Krista, and their two kids, Olivia and Ryan.
